Centuries of fighting his inner evil have left him tired and starved for some naughty action. When his leader offers him a mission to Anchorage, Alaska, to rescue a female threatened by his enemy, he jumps on the next flight. In an Anchorage tavern, he finds insecure, cynical Ariella Segreti. Not only is she the threatened woman he seeks but his Soul Tie, the only woman able to tame his unruly demon. Well, he did crave some naughty action. Now, he has a mate, a mysterious child, perilous old enemies, and enough adventure to send them all running for their lives. When the danger finally catches up to him, Armen must put aside old loyalties, forge new ones, and tackle the most difficult challenge of his existence—winning his stubborn Soul Tie’s heart.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Ariella has had a rough time these past few years. With her divorce from Tony and having to raise their daughter Katie on her own she is a little in down in the dumps and lets not forget her mother whose idea of motivation is simply putting Ariella down. In an effort to raise her friends spirits Dee convinces Ariella to go out for a night on the town. The Polar Bar is not exactly Ariella’s idea of a good time but what else is one to do in Alaska? What starts off as a pretty decent night turns into a horror show of epic proportions. Armen will never understand why someone would willingly live in such a cold place. Yet Alaska is where he is sent by their family’s leader Curon in order to track down and save a Soultie and her daughter from the clutches of Mullin and his evil minions. Though he was warned that a Soulties scent could be distracting he was not prepared for its full impact. When he finally manages to track the delicious scent he is shocked to find that not only is the woman he is sent to save a Soultie but HIS Soultie. When all hell breaks loose in the bar it is all Armen can do to keep Ariella safe and get her out in one piece alive. The way that Ariella is introduced to his world is less than savory. With demons fighting each other over her Ariella is dumbfounded, scared and pissed off that they would dare threaten her daughter. Armen has his work cut out for him trying to convince this spitfire of a woman that not only does he mean her no harm but that she and her are two parts of a whole. Throughout this story Ariella learns some truths about her ex Tony that explains so much and yet still leaves her with questions. Can Armen get Ariella and Katie to safety before it’s too late? What does Mullin want with Katie? Can Ariella put aside her distrust of men and let Armen mend her heart and soul? Can Armen and Incubus really ever devote himself to just one woman? What makes Katie so special will leave everyone floored and more determined to save her than ever. A great read that will leave you eagerly turning the pages as well as awaiting the next installment to this series.
