 Blurb:
He stole me. He broke me. I'm being auctioned for Fifty thousand dollars. Now, I don't belong to anyone but strangely enough I wanted to belong to him. It's his eyes ... I lost myself in them.

Sami's Review:
What started out as a road trip for three best friends quickly turns into a horrible nightmare. While out on the town in Vegas; their first stop; Kristine, Riza and Kelly are abducted by men who see them only as merchandise to be sold at auction. Their only saving grace thought it doesn’t seem like it at the time are Garrett and Justin. Garrett and Justin are on a mission to save their sister from the horrible men who took her and plan to sell her to the highest bidder. What started out as a simple plan to infiltrate the ring quickly turns into something else when Riza, Kristine and Kelly are brought into the picture. While still trying to save their sister they develop feelings for two of their captives. But can love really come from something that started out the way their relationships have? After being reduced to nothing but a slave can Riza, Kristine and Kelly really move on? A gripping tale of the horrors that still plague this country and the hope that some find at the end of the dark tunnel.

Excerpt: Prologue
Kristine~ As I come to, I find my world spinning. I feel a hand on my side and pain shoots through my ribs as I’m pushed. And the world starts to spin faster as my body goes round and round. I’m hanging from something and can’t reach the floor to stop my body from swinging. “I always wanted to take up kickboxing. You know, like Van Damme in that movie Bloodsport. It’s one of my favorites.” Ice flows through my veins at the sound of Warren’s voice. It all comes back to me how Warren came into the hospital room, as if he was some long lost relative. I tried to call for help but he covered my mouth and whispered the words that made me leave willingly with him. “If you don’t come peacefully I will go and kill that redhead, or the blackhead, which do you prefer? Oh wait, maybe I should kill your master?” His fist slams into my side, as if I’m a punching bag. White-hot pain sears through my already bruised body. “Warren, stop playing with the slut and fuck her already. I have a meeting to make,” I hear Bill’s voice, but I can’t focus enough to see where he is, or how many men there are. “I’m going to fuck you so good you’re gonna beg me to be your master,” Warren sneers. He grabs my hair and yanks my face closer to his. “You’d like that, won’t you slut?” I don’t answer him. I know it doesn’t matter what I say. He’s going to do what he wants to me until he grows bored and kills me. “Bend her over the table,” Bill says, sounding annoyed. “I want to have a perfect view of her ass as you break her in.” Fear and dread ripples through me. Oh no! I can’t believe this is how my life is going to end. Just as everything started to go right, it all comes crumbling down around me again. Warren unhooks me and lets me fall to the hard ground. I watch him pull his foot back and then he sinks it into my stomach. I let out a silent scream as I gasp for air. I’m still recovering from the kick when he grabs my bound hands and starts to drag me somewhere. I don’t know where we are. As he yanks me forward, Bill comes into view. He’s sitting on a chair watching this all go down with that smug look on his face. The building is otherwise empty, and it makes Warren’s footsteps echo against the walls. “You know, I thought it was funny that Garrett and that other douche just disappeared after the auction. Hey, Pop…” Warren stops to have a conversation with his dad. I try frantically to twist my body around so I can get to my feet. All my trouble earns me another kick to my side. He glares at me before looking to his dad, his face showing how eager he is to please the man. He goes on talking as if I didn’t just interrupt him. “That really pissed you off. But see, I did Pop proud. I told you I’d find them. I got the slut and soon we’ll have Garrett pay for what’s left of her. I wonder if he’ll think she’s worth anything when we’re done with her.” They’re discussing me as if I’m nothing. I’m nothing but merchandise again. “What better way to catch a big fish than to use the little worm. If I’d know how much money that man had I would’ve milked him sooner. That fucker and his brother played me for a fool and no one makes a fool of Bill Hardy.” Bill’s voice is grim, sending shivers of fear skating over my skin. The skin on my lower back burns as Warren yanks me across the dirty floor. My eyes dart around, looking for a weapon. I’m not going down without a fight. Warren suddenly jerks me up, jarring my shoulders, and throws me over a flat steel surface. My hips slam into the sharp side, the impact hurting me even more and making my legs quiver. Tears burn in my eyes but I swallow them down. I don’t want to give these sadistic fucks the pleasure of seeing me cry. “I’m gonna gut you, like those whores were gutted.” I don’t know which ones he’s talking about. “Like ole’ Jack did in London.” He grabs hold of my hair and wrenches my head back, lifting my torso from the slab. He reaches around me, pressing his chest and hard on against my back and butt. A wave of repulsion makes me feel sick. “I’m gonna slice you from here,” he pokes at my left breast and then starts to draw a line across my stomach to my right hip, “to here and then I’m gonna watch your guts fall on the floor.” I close my eyes and a wave of nausea hits. I always knew Warren was the worst of the lot. Garrett protected me and I threw it all back in his face. I hope I get to tell him how sorry I am. I hope I make it through this.

About the author:
Michelle Horst is thirty seven years old and is from the land of milk and honey. She's been in love with reading from an early age. She has a passion for other cultures, but she has an ultimate soft spot for nature and animals. She first tried her hand at writing in early 2009 and as the first words started to form into a book, she knew she was hooked. Dreams spilled onto pages, and that was the beginning of a wonderful journey. One filled with joy. One filled with passion and heart stopping moments. But most of all, it's filled with such pride and peace as a story comes to life, and characters fill your life, living in the very walls of your mind, living in the minds of your readers. There is nothing as satisfying as that. Thank you for each and every story you share with me. Sunshine Smiles from around the world and back,Michelle ;)

Sami's Review:
WOW this story was one wild ride! Charisma was brought up in a very religious family and with her father being a preacher her life was always a bit sheltered. One mistake back when she was young robbed her of not only her ability to trust men but to bear children or so she thought. After working hard to earn money for a vacation she goes to Vegas but what awaits her there and the ensuing events afterwards will leave her world in a tailspin. Hunt has been alone for a long time and has given up hope of every finding peace and the feeling that he belongs. Though wealthy beyond measure he is disconnected from life in so many ways. When he sees Charisma his whole view on life changes and he will do anything in his power to keep her. Betrayed by one of his own he nearly loses Charisma not once but twice. A twisted tale of love, curses, betrayal and hope this book will keep you guessing til the very end.

Excerpt:
Charisma swallowed hard, standing in front of the door to Hunt’s suite.  What lay behind it?  It was like he was opening the lid to Pandora’s Box.
Hunt held her gaze, and took her purse when the door clicked open.  “I like being in charge of things.  You won’t have a problem with that.”
The carnal rumble in his voice rekindled a fire deep inside of her that Charisma had thought was long dead.  She’d become so tired of the struggle to keep her life together; tired of trying to take care of herself and every situation in her single life.  How liberating it would be to surrender control to this man.
“I don’t have a problem with it.”
Hunt held out his hand.  “You mentioned a shower.”
He led her down a hallway to the bathroom.  Charisma was so nervous she hardly noticed the large, jetted tub.  Hunt took off his suit jacket and laid it on the vanity, opened the glass door to the shower and turned on the water.  He leaned in, relaxing his posture as he maintained firm eye contact.  “I think I’ll have you begin by undressing me.”
The shower seemed to get louder with each passing second.  Charisma’s fingers shook as she struggled to undo each button on his shirt.  What was she doing?  She’d never been in a shower with a man before, nor had she undressed a man.
He pulled the shirt off, throwing it on the double vanity.  Naked, he would be even more intimidating than, and as gorgeous, as a god.  His tanned chest was sprinkled with dark hair atop rippling abs.  Charisma’s pulse thudded inside her neck.  I’m really going to do this.
“Now.  Take off your clothes.  All of them.”  His voice was sharp.
Charisma couldn’t look him in the eye, as she reached around to unzip her skirt. She allowed it to fall to the floor, but hesitated to unbutton her blouse.
“The shirt comes off too.”
Her fingers finally completed the task.  She stood, motionless, awaiting a look of disapproval on Hunt’s face as his eyes zeroed in on her curvaceous hips.
“I don’t think you’re finished.  I still see panties and a bra.”
Charisma’s face was flaming.  She reached around to unhook her bra, biting down on her bottom lip as her traitorous nipples told of her arousal.
Hunt’s lips parted, and he lowered his voice.  “I can see your embarrassment.  You’re beautiful.”  She relaxed slightly as he ran his hand over her hip.  “You’re not to be ashamed.  Understood?”
Charisma nodded, looking at the floor.
“Miss Claiborne, look at me.”
His eyes glittered as they roamed over her.  Her body responded in a warm flood, as he murmured his approval.
Charisma trembled with desire, keenly aware of her pulse, as Hunt unzipped his pants, freeing his erection.  Her muscles clenched at his size.
“You’re still blushing.  You see how hard I am for you, and you will not be ashamed.”
Steam escaped as he opened the shower door.  She stepped into the hot stream, Hunt behind her.

“Turn and face me.  On your knees.”

“Change your name, and your hair color. Then move far away from here and lay low. I’m sorry, but at this point, that’s the best advice I can offer you.”
Laura slumped in the rickety wooden seat next to the detective’s desk and pounded her sweaty palms against the armrests. He couldn’t be giving up on her case! But the truth of the situation mocked her with every hopeless word the defeated man spoke. Just like all the others, he’d been bested. One psychopath had managed to render New York’s finest and a host of private detectives impotent.
“I don’t understand. How can this monster make my life a living hell day after day and not get caught? How can he continue to terrorize me like this and not leave any trace of who he is?”
Detective Roberts gnawed on a sunflower seed and spit the remnants into a paper cup. Had he gotten a little grayer around the temples since the last time she’d been to the station? “He knows what he’s doing, how to play the game. I’m thinking he could be one of us, or someone who’s been in law enforcement. It’s uncanny the way he can do so much and not slip up. It’s pissing me off.”
You’re pissed?” she scoffed. “What about me? According to you, my life is about to be over as I know it.” She grabbed a tattered tissue from her purse and blew her nose. As she took a quick look in the makeup mirror, her complexion told a sorry story of incessant stress and sleep deprivation. What a mess. She plunged the mirror back into her bag and noticed paper clips strewn across his desk. One by one she gathered them into rows and columns. Then she gathered each row and deposited them back into the paper clip holder.
“Listen, I’m not giving up on you or on trying to find the sick bastard. I just think it would be best for you to disappear into a whole new life. As long as your stalker remains a mystery, it’s not safe for you to be… you. I could suggest what I’m sure all the others have— change your routines, move to another part of the city, or hire security…”
“I’ve done all that already, and he’s still around.”
“The last, most severe response is to skip town and start fresh somewhere else. Keep a low profile in some invisible job where nobody knows who you really are.”
“Do you realize what you’re asking me to do? I own a thriving book store. I have family and friends. I can’t just give it all up. Then he wins.”
“Isn’t he winning now?”
She raised a brow and turned away, preferring to straighten the various piles of paper on his desk and align each container to another rather than face the truth.

By writing paranormal romance and suspense, Deena spends her days and nights playing in the Garden of Good and Evil. She’s been known to have downed a few beers with her angels, and even put Satan in his place a time or two. She’s come to learn, however, that the human villains she creates can be more evil and depraved than the supernatural characters she conjures up. Gilbert, Arizona is home now for her family, but she hails from Philadelphia, PA and lived for many years in Manalapan, NJ. When she’s not writing, she’s teaching kids how to do the same.
